The Story of PaperCut
Stories You Can Wear
More than 25 years ago, at the Sziget Festival, I got a special jacket. I've had it ever since. It's been with me my whole life, surviving trips, festivals, rain, wind and years.
Wherever I went in it, people would always be amazed. They asked where it was from, they touched the material, they took a closer look. It had something about it that other clothes couldn't.
I searched for this material for a long time, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Finally, I decided to get it from the other side of the world and make my own, modern version.
Its unique qualities
- extremely durable and difficult to tear
- light, almost weightless
- water-repellent in light rain
- foldable to a handful of sizes, fits in the smallest purse
- protects from the cold in windy weather
- easily washable
The first collection
PaperCut's first collection tells two stories.
One is about the city: a map of downtown Budapest, streets, bridges and places we visit every day.
The other evokes the atmosphere of an era, the scenes of April elections in Hungary: the energy of the streets, the crowd, the emotions and those moments when the city breathes together.
We hope that these jackets will collect as many stories in the lives of their wearers as the old piece that started it all.
